Job Title Summary

Personal Attendant Services (PAS) are designed to assist individuals in need of full-time care. In accordance with each client's individualized plan, the attendant provides the client with personal assistance and supportive living services. Attendants must provide services planned to maintain, strengthen, and safeguard the client in their environments and promote independent living. The priority attendant is a part time position, and the schedule is based on the service delivery needs of the clients.

Job Duties

  • As determined by the Clients individualized plan, the attendant provides services to maintain, strengthen and safeguard the client in their home environment
  • Performs duties as listed on the detailed task assignment sheet
  • Performs duties as outlined in orientation and per SPCAA's policies and procedures
  • Assists client with activities of daily living and helps client with personal hygiene
  • Reports major life changes or injuries that affect client to supervisor within 24 hours of awareness of occurrences, or by the next working day
  • Provides supervision of activities and assists when necessary for protection from physical harm. Conscientiously watches for safety hazards, acts immediately, and takes steps to remove the risk of danger. Reports any dangerous or suspicious activities to supervisor.
  • Reports any suspicions of abuse, neglect, or exploitation to supervisor immediately.
  • Responsible for clocking activity in EVV for each individual client.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • May not be a spouse of a client who receives services.
  • Must be willing to take and pass a drug/alcohol test and comply with "drug free" agency policy.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal history check, must not be on the 010 exclusion list and must not be listed on the Misconduct Registry.
  • Employee must have a valid ID, valid proof of citizenship or work visa, and must have an existing bank account for direct deposit.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to maintain physical condition and stamina appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities or other duties assigned.
  • Ability to push, pull and or move up to 25 pounds using safety precautions
  • Must be able to safely transfer clients as indicated in task assignment sheet
  • May require long periods of standing, sitting, or walking.
  • Ability to stand or squat as required to complete tasks safely

Travel Requirements

  • Must provide self-transportation to and from work location. Travel to and from work is not included as work time. Extended travel will be via company vehicle.
  • The attendant must NEVER transport the client in the attendant's or company’s vehicle.
