The Provider Services/Texas Rising Star Specialist will be responsible for assigned ongoing TRS providers mentorings and will assist with coordination of all activities with the Child Care Services Providers. Responsible for participation in mentoring providers based on current TRS guidelines. Duties include recruitment of providers, providing technical assistance, mentoring, and training providers. In addition duties include completion of all necessary paperwork and contracts in a paperless environment, as well as, assisting Providers in achieving and maintaining Texas Rising Star status. Duties also include assistance with the Resource Room. Must be able to obtain and maintain TRS mentoring credentials as required by the Texas Workforce Commission. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Applicants must be extremely organized, detailed oriented and have excellent computer skills.
Education requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family and consumer science;
OR
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with at least 18 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family and consumer science with at least 12 credit hours in child development;
OR
Associates degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family and consumer science with two years of experience as a director in an early childhood program, with preference given to experience with a provider that is accredited or TRS certified.
