With a 23 year career in Human Resources, including an impressive 17-year tenure as the HR Director for South Plains Community Action Association (SPCAA), Andy Cates brings a wealth of experience to his role.

Holding a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts in Human Resources Management from Wayland Baptist University, Andy's educational background has been valuable to SPCAA's success. His professional credentials include the prestigious PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification, as well as the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification, and CCAP (Certified Community Action Professional), demonstrating his dedication to staying abreast of industry standards.

Outside of work, Andy finds joy in family and travel with his wife Melanie. Key West holds a special place as their favorite family destination. Their son Jacob, an Oklahoma State graduate, and their daughter Abbey, who will soon graduate from the University of Arkansas and embark on her journey towards a graduate degree in Social Work this summer, bring pride and fulfillment to their lives.

In their free time, Andy and his family enjoy the company of their three dogs and one cat.
